dated for 1855, with blued round 26 1/2in. barrel, block fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, rounded top-tang, borderline engraved lock signed 'TOWER' beneath the date and with a 'V.R.' crown device to tail, walnut full-stock with brass furniture, Board of Ordnance stamp to butt and setter-upper's name stamped to side cheek, iron swivels and Lovell's bayonet catch to fore-end cap, iron ramrod
